Why It Matters
Most attacks start with a message
Many security incidents begin with a user receiving an email that looks normal enough to trust. One click, one login, or one opened attachment can lead to account compromise, malware, or broader business disruption.
Improving email security is one of the most practical ways to reduce everyday cyber risk.

We keep it transparent, always. Here’s what our clients say!
I reached out to SixWatch to get my new company computer set up. I was sure it would be a grueling, all day process. However, to my surprise, it was painless and so convenient. Thomas was very helpful in making sure all my data & files were transferred over and that I was comfortable, confident even, in the use of my new machine. He even assured me that if I had any issues, he'd be readily available to help. 10 stars for having my six!

Email Security Is Where Most Attacks Still Start
Ransomware, wire fraud and credential theft almost always begin with a message someone believed. That is why Email Security is not a single product but a stack of small, boring controls that each remove one option from an attacker. Get four or five of them right and the volume of incidents drops sharply.

Authenticate Your Own Domain First
SPF, DKIM and DMARC tell the rest of the world which servers are allowed to send as you. Without them, anyone can spoof your domain to your own customers. Moving DMARC from monitoring to enforcement is one of the highest-return Email Security tasks available, and it costs nothing but attention.
Filter for Intent, Not Just Attachments
Modern phishing rarely carries malware. It carries a plausible request: a changed bank account, an urgent gift card purchase, a document link on a lookalike domain. Filtering needs to inspect display names, reply-to mismatches, newly registered domains and link destinations at click time, not only at delivery.
Assume One Will Get Through
Multi-factor authentication, conditional access and mailbox rule monitoring limit what an attacker can do with a stolen password. Alerting on new forwarding rules is particularly worthwhile, because that is usually the first thing set up after a mailbox is compromised.
Train People to Report, Not Just to Spot
A reporting button and a culture where using it is welcomed will catch more than any quiz score. CISA’s Recognize and Report Phishing guidance is a good basis for short, repeatable staff briefings.
Have a Plan for the Bad Day
Know in advance who disables the account, who checks for forwarding rules and sent items, who contacts the bank, and who tells the client. Written down, that sequence takes twenty minutes. Invented under pressure, it takes hours you do not have.
